Our mission is for every child to understand that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
We have high expectations of and for our pupils. We are committed to delivering an exceptional education that sets up every pupil for future success. We do this through our core values of academic excellence, social intelligence and ethical lives.
Academic excellence | I work hard at to learn more and remember more. |
Social intelligence | I am kind to myself and others. |
Ethical lives | I make good choices to show that I care about my community. |
These core values create the drumbeat of our school:
Work hard.
Be kind.
Make good choices.
We take time develop and reinforce our understanding of our core values and promote them in every interaction we have. During their time at Greet, these values are instilled in pupils, supporting them to: achieve academic excellence; develop their social intelligence; and lead ethical lives.
Promoting Fundamental British Values
In accordance with The Department for Education we aim to actively promote British values in schools to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain.
Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.
The Key Values are:
- democracy
- rule of law
- individual liberty
- mutual respect
- tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs
At Greet Primary School these values are reinforced regularly.
Democracy
We all have the right to an opinion. We have the right to have a say in decisions that affect us.
Greet Example:
We voted for class councillors!
Individual Liberty
We all have the right to have our own opinions, as long as we do not harm others with these.
Greet Example:
We share our thoughts in curriculum lessons, such as RE.
Mutual Respect and Tolerance
We know that people have different beliefs and lifestyles, and we respect this.
Greet Example:
We find out about different lifestyles during Lyfta time and discuss these as a class.
Rule of Law
Everyone must follow the rules and laws because these keep us safe.
Greet Example:
We follow our three school rules ‘Work Hard, Be Kind, Make Good Choices’ from nursery to Year 6.
